Tell them that in the scriptures we learn how Jesus showed love. Briefly tell the following stories:. They were there a long time and got very hungry have the children pretend to be hungry. There was only a little bread and fish to feed all of the people. Jesus blessed the food and told His disciples to give it to the people.
Everyone had enough to eat, and there was a lot of food left over have the children pretend to eat.

See Matthew — Jesus blessed the man so he could see have the children uncover their eyes. See John — Because He loved the children, He blessed each one of them have the children hug themselves. Invite the children to sing and do the actions with you. Find a piece of paper that is the same size as the picture or cut a piece of paper to the same size and cut the paper into three or four pieces to make a puzzle.
For the scripture activity: Bring a copy of the Bible. Mark John so that you can turn to it easily. Cover the picture of Jesus with the puzzle pieces. Ask a child to choose a piece. Read the phrase on the piece and have all the children repeat it. Discuss one way we can love others say thank you, share, do what Mother or Father ask, put toys away, and so on.

7 Different Ways Jesus Showed Love
To fall in love with Jesus, we must know Him. Not superficially, but deeply. That kind of knowledge takes time and persistence, just like any good relationship.
Jesus invites us to abide in His love — rest, stay, tarry — not rush past it. Now remain in my love. Many of us equate loving Jesus with obedience.

Obedience is surely part of showing we love Him; even Jesus said that. But the love Jesus wants is our affections, our emotions, the longing of our hearts. How do we get there? For years, my faith was academic. I studied the Bible and did my best to make good choices. But there was always a formality about my faith. Everything changed when I started knowing Jesus as a real person, not just someone to be studied.
When I read about Jesus standing by a shamed woman, daring the self-righteous to convict her, I imagined Him doing that for me and loved Him.
When Jesus stood at a well, talking to a woman everyone shunned, I pictured Him talking to me despite the potential rumors and loved Him. I could go on and on. There are so many reasons to love Jesus, but here is a truth to embrace: Jesus is real, and He loves us. And for us to experience that love and offer it back, we need to know Him.
